An English version with different lyrics, “Two Oruguitas,” plays during the credits. The only slow-paced song in the movie, “Dos Oruguitas,” plays over a flashback of Abuela Alma and Abuelo Pedro’s tragic love story during Encanto’s climax. According to songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda, the character Bruno was named as such specifically so they could use the lyrics, “Bruno, no, no.” “Dos Oruguitas” by Sebastián Yatra “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” not only shaped the public’s image of Encanto but even shaped the movie along its development process. One particular video, which edited Camilo’s verse to replace nearly every noun with “rats,” was featured at the top of YouTube’s homepage for several weeks. Countless TikTok videos, memes, and covers of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” flooded the Internet for months. Singles Chart.įollowing the movie’s release on Disney+, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” became a massive Internet hit. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, a Disney song achievement shared only by Aladdin’s “A Whole New World.” “Bruno” was also the first Disney song to hit #1 on the Official U.K. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” reigned supreme as the top-performing song on the Encanto soundtrack. And that’s not even mentioning what happened to Señora Pezmuerto’s fish… Isabela blames her insecurities toward her approaching marriage on Mirabel, just like Pepa did with Bruno. Dolores is madly in love with Isabela’s soon-to-be-fiance, Mariano. Pepa blamed her poor spirits and anxieties on her wedding day on Bruno. Mirabel’s prying sparks a 3 ½ minute musical number that shines a new, eerie light on both Bruno and the rest of the ensemble. In Encanto, not much was known about the character Bruno before this song outside of knowing we don’t talk about him. Styled after Colombian Cha-cha-chá music, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” went on to break music records that Frozen’s “Let It Go” couldn’t. The most popular song on the soundtrack, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” occurs almost halfway through Encanto’s runtime and tonally shifts the movie into a new direction. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” by Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz, and Cast It may not have been as popular as “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” but “Surface Pressure is sure to be a favorite karaoke song for years to come. During the movie, Mirabel has speaking lines in “Surface Pressure,” but these were removed from the official soundtrack. Though she is featured in later ensemble songs, “Surface Pressure” is Luisa’s only solo number. According to Darrow, songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda had told her, “You don’t have to worry about sounding perfect: just ride these notes on the song and see where it goes.” Darrow played around with the song and her character to give Luisa as much personality as possible. “Surface Pressure,” along with “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” made Encanto the first-ever Disney animated feature to have multiple songs on Billboard’s Top 10.Īctress Jessica Darrow was excited to voice Luisa, especially considering this was the first role she had ever booked. The song particularly uses analogies like a camel with a broken back, a toppling line of dominoes, and the Titanic.ĭuring the Encanto album’s nine-nonconsecutive-week run on the Billboard 200 charts, “Surface Pressure” peaked at No. The lyrics discuss the movie’s central theme of family expectations, with Luisa sharing the emotional weight she has to carry as an older/middle child. Unlike the other songs from Encanto’ssoundtrack, “Surface Pressure” was written in the style of Latino reggaeton music. The song was an instant favorite among Disney fans, sparking numerous covers and TikTok dances across the Internet following Encanto’s Disney+ release. The third number in Encanto’s soundtrack, “Surface Pressure,” shares the perspective of Luisa Madrigal, Mirabel’s older sister, who has the gift of super strength. We hypothesised that elevated UCR would be associated with poorer inpatient clinical endpoints. The present study aims to examine the prevalence of elevated UCR in a tertiary hospital-based cohort of CKD patients, as well as its associated patient characteristics and clinical outcomes. The association between UCR and clinical outcomes in non-end stage CKD patients remains uncertain, however, with no current studies in this patient population. A more recent multicentre prospective study from Japan, demonstrated that UCR level at the time of dialysis initiation is associated with all-cause mortality, and is more strongly associated with mortality than eGFR or creatinine clearance alone 7. Several studies in haemodialysis patients have shown that UCR level is significantly associated with an increased risk for all-cause mortality 21, 22, infection-related death and incidence of coronary heart disease 23. Over the past decade, UCR has been strongly associated with poor clinical outcomes in various population settings, such as acute kidney injury (AKI) 8, 9, acute decompensated heart failure 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, chronic heart failure 15, 16, 17, acute myocardial infarction 18, 19 and ischaemic stroke 20. Increases in serum urea out of proportion to serum creatinine result in an elevated UCR and reflect a critical condition. Serum urea levels can be further increased by excess protein intake, hypovolaemia, heart failure, gastrointestinal bleeding and catabolism 7. In renal failure, serum urea and creatinine levels usually rise proportionally with a progressive decline in renal function 4, 5, 6. Because this process is regulated by both neurohormonal activity and renal function, the urea-to-creatinine ratio (UCR) has been proposed to be of value in clinical practice. Creatinine is not reabsorbed and is excreted from the body, however, approximately 40–50% of urea is reabsorbed in the tubules, where it is linked to reabsorption of sodium and water 3. Due to their small molecular sizes, both creatinine and urea are filtered by the glomerulus 2. Urea has traditionally been thought to be a relatively inert molecule, however, recent experimental data has suggested that it induces biochemical alterations with a potential impact on clinical outcomes 1. The biological role of urea in chronic kidney disease (CKD) remains contentious. This warrants further investigation to understand the pathophysiological basis for this relationship and to identify effective interventions. Elevated urea-to-creatinine ratio is associated with poor clinical outcomes in chronic kidney disease inpatients. Despite this, there was no statistically significant association between higher urea-to-creatinine ratio and intensive care unit admission. Higher urea-to-creatinine ratio level was associated with greater rates of inpatient mortality, hospital readmission within 30-days and longer hospital length-of-stay. Age ≥ 65 years, female gender, gastrointestinal tract bleeding, heart failure, acute kidney injury and lower serum albumin were associated with elevated urea-to-creatinine ratio. This retrospective cohort study ( n = 11,156) included patients with at least two eGFR values 100 was present in 27.67% of hospital admissions. To better understand the role of the urea-to-creatinine ratio in chronic kidney disease patients, we assessed the epidemiology of the urea-to-creatinine ratio among hospitalised chronic kidney disease patients, and the association between the urea-to-creatinine ratio and inpatient clinical outcomes. Cho without The Titan’s Resolve is just no point in playing, tbh. If you are playing The Bruiser comp, the two mutant bonus is there when you need it the most. Of course Cho is better pick then Rek’Sai but that comes with the price, since to place him on the field you will need to clear 2 spots (that’s two levels) to put him, since that is a con of The Colossus trait.Ĭho’Gath is a beast who makes a smile appear on any face that is playing him in the game. He brings the most important thing to the table, that is the whole point of the game. To have fun. It’s about seeing your Cho increase to the point that you almost can’t see the other champions in the table, and then just eat enemy’s team, champ by champ. He is a beast. He grows in size, chews, and even one-shots your opponents, and when combined with the Titan’s Resolve, Cho could grow to 50% of the field once his level is at its highest. He has three traits, being The Mutant, The Bruiser, and The Colossus trait. Rek’Sai and he both wear The Mutant emblem and The Bruiser emblem This means they can work well together. This is essentially meaning that if you are playing The Mutant composition, you must have at minimum two bruisers on your team. You have to be a sloppy, dumb or simply a poor League of Legends or Teamfight Tactics player to be a Cho’Gath hater. Cho’Gath is a beast! (that loves to feast and feast, the puns are real, I know). Cho is a character which was in patch 6 the entire time, and has remained on our team through patch 6.5. Cho is an amazing unit and I couldn’t be happier. However, each Colossus requires 2 team slots. Innate: Colossi are bigger, more powerful, and immune to crowd control effects. As you can probably guess by now, these traits are a rarity in the game and can not be seen that often. The unique traits in Teamfight Tactics are usually bound to the more expensive group of champions since they are a lot harder to get once you are in the game, and you probably need a lot more skill to even make that far in the game so you can buy them. These traits are usually much stronger than the other traits and that is why they have so fewer units. You see, some of the traits that appear in the current set of Teamfight Tactics are unique for only one or two champions, and that is what makes them stand out from the bunch. Many of those traits have a lot of units that carry that said trait but there are some exceptions. The landmark Streamline Moderne style structure would be added to the National Register of Historic Places listings in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1982. In the 1940s, Polaroid purchased the B B Chemical Company building at 784 Memorial Drive in Cambridge, Massachusetts for its headquarters. Land was pictured on the cover of Life magazine in 1972 with the inscription, "A Genius and His Magic Camera". He gave the first public demonstration of his new Land Camera in February 1947 from then until 1972, the user had to release the film manually, pull a tab, and peel the negative from the finished positive print-the first version to eliminate these intermediate steps was the SX-70 of 1972, which ejected the print automatically. Recognized by most as the father of instant photography, he included all the operations of a darkroom inside the film itself. Kodak was a customer for some of Land's polarizing products. He headed the Polaroid Corporation, developing it from a small research and marketing firm into a well known high-tech company. During World War II, Polaroid designed and manufactured numerous products for the armed services including an infrared night viewing device. Polaroid, owning patents to its polarizer technology, got its start by employing polarization in products that included 3-D movies and protective goggles for military dogs. Land later returned to Harvard to continue his research. Land, having completed his freshman year at Harvard University, left to pursue this market, resulting in Polaroid's birth. Polaroid’s initial market was in polarized sunglasses - spawned from Land’s self-guided research in light polarization. It has been described by The Boston Globe as a "juggernaut of innovation", and "the Apple of its time" with a "leader in Edwin Land, a scientist who guided the company as the founding CEO for four decades". Is there anything at the camera I should look at? Or is the film pack defective? I checked the battery voltage and it is just a hair over 6 volts, but that doesn't mean there is enough current available to run the motor. Is this a common thing? I wouldn't think so. But the Spectra really struggles to eject the film. The film eject is snappy like it should be. I've never used one of these Spectra cameras before, but I have other Polaroid 600 cameras and with Impossible film they appear to work fine. The output rollers are now clean and they are moving freely. Eventually, I got it to go by removing the thin plastic light blocking strip at the front of the cartridge but when the film is ejected the camera barely seems to have enough "oomph" to eject the film. I reloaded the cartridge with the wasted pictures and tried again following some online guides to clean the camera and such. I fooled around with it in the dark to try and get the thing to work, but needless to say, all the pictures eventually got wasted. The camera seemed to operate fine, focus appeared to work, the flash worked but the film got stuck in the rollers on eject just like the sheet did. In the darkroom, I open the front and pulled the sheet out then tried a picture. It seemed like the camera barely had enough power to eject it. When I loaded the film and the camera powered up, the top cardboard sheet got stuck in the rollers on the eject. The film shows a manufacture date of 09/16. The film was stored in the fridge until a week ago. So, I purchased some Impossible Spectra film around Christmas and just today finally got it loaded in the Spectra. It had the last pack of (dried out) Polaroid film in it which had enough power to operate the camera and it seemed to work fine. A few months ago I picked up a Polaroid Spectra camera for a few dollars. Each family built a cabin in this area now known as Stanford Hill. They measured the transition between energy levels of electrons in orbit around lab-made hydrogen atoms that replaced an orbiting electron with a muon, which orbits much closer to the proton and is more sensitive to the proton’s charge radius. In 2010, atomic physicists announced results from a new method. These two different methods yielded a radius of about 0.88 femtometers. Nuclei that have typically been observed include hydrogen (with one proton) or deuterium (with a proton and a neutron). In atomic spectroscopy measurements, the transitions between energy levels by electrons are observed (in the form of photons that are given off by the electrons) as they orbit a small nucleus. In electron-scattering experiments, electrons are shot at the protons, and the proton’s charge radius is determined by the change in path of the electrons after they bounce off, or scatter from, the proton. Prior to 2010, the most precise measurements of the proton’s radius came from two different experimental methods. Yet, an unexpected result from an experiment to measure the size of this cloud, in terms of its root-mean-square charge radius, has united atomic and nuclear physicists in a flurry of activity to re-examine this basic quantity of the proton. The ubiquitous proton, which sits at the heart of every atom, has been the subject of numerous studies and experiments aimed at revealing its secrets. Gasparian is an Armenian physicist who got his PhD from the Yerevan Physics Institute in Armenia.Īll visible matter in the universe is built on a cloud of three quarks bound together with strong force energy. “We are happy that years of hard work of our collaboration is coming to an end with a good result that will help critically toward solution of the so-called proton radius puzzle,” says Ashot Gasparian, a professor at North Carolina A&T State University and the experiment’s spokesperson. The new value for the proton radius that was obtained is 0.831 fm, which is smaller than the previous electron-scattering value of 0.88 fm and is in agreement with recent muonic atomic spectroscopy results. The result, recently published in the journal Nature, is one of the most precise measured from electron-scattering experiments. Using the first new method in half a century for measuring the size of the proton via electron scattering, the PRad collaboration has produced a new value for the proton’s radius in an experiment conducted at the Department of Energy’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. Even the way the album ends, with the fauna cacophony of ‘The Crystal World’ cutting off into silence after four minutes and fourteen seconds, paradoxically lacks drama. If this is a comment on the dangers of deforestation impacting the planet’s lungs it feels trite and in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic that hit Brazil especially hard, it seems in terrible taste. Perhaps this is a recording of something in ‘Nature’ manipulated to sound ‘Human’, but if so it merely reinforces the unfortunate binaries that have landed the world in the mess that it is in. ‘The Intensive Care Unit’ is what appears to be a human being on some kind of ventilation, a breath coming in mechanically-assisted gasps. Something bad is happening to this ecosystem, Frost seems to be telling us, as if we didn’t already know. The trebly lunges of ‘The Index’, for instance, are merely overbearing, almost macho, something reflected in track titles like ‘The Killing Ground’, A Guide To Virtual Death’ and so on. Frost’s source material is manipulated, edited and creative decisions made that push the sonics not towards meaning and engagement but towards at best a curiously bland evocation of the ominous – like some old painting of mountains or forests that sought to reach the sublime in nature, now mass reproduced as a souvenir tea towel. It seems as if it was Frost’s intention to do something similar here, and he could perhaps have succeeded were it not for the rather jarring collision of the sounds of the rainforest and his own interventions. As depressing as it is, field recordings can also become reminders of what is threatened, and eventually, what we have lost. The sound recordist Chris Watson, for instance, is just one of a skilled team who work on David Attenborough’s increasingly polemical television series. Courtesy The Vinyl Factoryįield recordings are a vital part of the tapestry of serious wildlife documentaries that have the potential to push people towards greater environmental awareness. Mosse pointed thermal imaging cameras at the rainforest foliage while Frost slowed down his field recordings to try to capture the sounds of fauna and flora usually inaudible to the human ear, along with insect hums, mammalian hoots and bird calls.īen Frost, Broken Spectre, 2022, cover art. A failure of our democracies, a failure of political will, a failure of imagination, and creatively, my own failure to communicate through sound the vast scale of the Amazon and the ongoing damage inflicted upon it by the policies of Jair Bolsonaro.’ In this admission of failure is an implicit assumption that Frost had believed that, as an electronic musician of impeccable pedigree and international repute, this project would have been able to achieve… what, exactly? If he arrived in the rainforest, expecting to record an album that would neatly sum up the unknowable power yet vulnerability of the rainforest ecosystem, perhaps Frost was doomed before he even began, like Werner Herzog’s Fitzcarraldo trying to lift his steamboat up over a jungle mountain ridge.īroken Spectre also serves as the soundtrack to visual artist Richard Mosse’s installation of the same name, on view at London’s 180 Studios until 30 December. The Australian-Icelandic experimental producer Ben Frost writes that Broken Spectre (2022), his first studio album in five years is ‘ultimately a document of failure. How is it possible to make the vastness of the jungle quite so boring? |
